Also with FOREWARN Bangladesh (2022–23), CCI conducted a district-level landslide susceptibility assessment for Rangamati District in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

The study integrated community vulnerability data with geospatial risk analysis and multi-scenario risk profiling — producing evidence-based, spatially grounded assessments in a geographically complex and community-sensitive environment.

Competencies demonstrated — spatial risk characterisation, community-validated hazard interpretation, and inclusive vulnerability framing — apply directly to shelter observation and hazard exposure mapping components of coastal baselines

Products included susceptibility maps, narrative risk briefs, and recommendations for anticipatory and preparedness investments tailored to hill tract settlement patterns and institutional arrangements.

The assignment strengthened CCI’s multi-hazard portfolio beyond flood and cyclone, reinforcing capacity to work across Bangladesh’s diverse hazard geographies

Programme highlights

  • Geospatial landslide susceptibility mapping
  • Community vulnerability integration
  • Multi-scenario risk profiling
  • District-level preparedness recommendations
CCI embeds gender-responsive methodologies, disability-inclusive data collection, and intersectional analysis across all fieldwork and reporting — not as an add-on, but as a core design principle.
